It was awesome getting to know you all yesterday and believe it or not as much as I stalk your blogs, I still learnt a few things (okay a lot) that I did not know b4.
Have you ever giving me an award and I did not put it up? Have I ever promised to participate in a blogfest and I didn't? Well believe you me its because I 4got, am off to the doctors today, they want to look in my brain to see why I am so batty (c'est pas grave).
I'll be back this evening to comment on everyone's blogs and I dont know if i should be proud or ashamed, my 2 year old saw an ad for Shakira on the tv and said "waka waka loca"
See! I was going to say I got the Fair Dinkum award from L'aussie and I almost forgot. I'll have an award ceremony this week I promise, also thank you to Erica&Christy for my versatile Blogger award (just the thot of going to the doc and my brain is already perking up)
Alright see you in a bit.
This is where my head is most of the time. |
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by yesterday, and yes Choc-Lit have some really good books on their list. Talking publishers, I do have a comprehensive list of such at bottom of my sidebar, but I'm still thinking of going it alone!
I did have a financial stake in an e-pub house back when e-books were frowned upon as second rate and unlikely to get off the ground. They did though, and sold well, but Lisa fell ill and gave up, and I went to Heartline Books (paperback) which folded due to the founders death right when she'd confirmed interest in acquisition of a novel of mine.
But, if Red Velvet Books were still around I think it would be bigger than the Wild Rose Press and or Samhain because it was in at the beginning of the e-book revolution. I suspect Embrace will do quite well, but seems not be putting itself out there very much: hanging in with set crowd so to speak. Selling your publishing house to writers is one thing, marketing to the public as a whole another and I'm meeting writing bloggers who've never heard of E.
Re daughter: cute, and she's got her eye on becoming a pop star. ;)

I don't get with closed networking! Just me I guess.
Joanna - good luck at the doctor today and thank you for all the comments on my blog!
ReplyDeleteThat is cute what your 2 year old says when they see Shakira. When my 9 year old sees her she says "Mommy I wanna learn how to belly dance." When my 12 year old sees her he says "Mom she is hot!" Ha! To have a two year old again! (Sigh) LOL
My thoughts and prayers are with you today! :)
I finally took the awards off my sidebar and gave up trying to *remember* because I didn't want to remember some and forget others, I figured best to just forget everyone LOL! But I'm still flattered when someone bestows an award on me, I say thank you and visit their blog more often, but that's about as far as it goes. Your little boy sounds so cute!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the doctor--I hope there's nothing to be stressed about. Hugs!

If you find my brain while you're up there in the clouds, could you tweet it to me?
ReplyDeleteI hope your doctor's visit goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteKids between the ages of 2 and 6 say the cutest things!
Good luck at the doc's office.
ReplyDeleteAwwww your two year old sounds amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the doc's!! I hope it all works out and it's not serious? It's not is it?!!?!
Please take care and CONGRATULATIONS with your fab awards! Yay! x
Good luck today!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your awards!
I did that yesterday. I promised Laura Eno I would put up her award and forgot. So then after I posted my post, I had to go back. When I went back, I ended up thanking not Laura for the award but someone else. So I had to go back again.
ReplyDeleteAt least we have children to make us laugh and hope everything goes well with you. Please let us know. Please.

aww thanks for the love everybody, my wooly brain and I just got back and all I can say is that was the noisiest MRI machine ever - my ears are still ringing but the radiologist said I still have a brain so I have nothing to worry about. In other words my doctor gets to play Dr. House again :)
ReplyDeleteYou sound pretty well to me! Hope the results of the MRI are positive.
ReplyDeleteI love coming into your beautiful blog.
Like some others, I can't keep track of awards. I have been putting them on a page. Sometimes I follow the "rules" but mostly I don't, though I do thank the person publicly on my blog for the compliment. Life just gets too complicated....

Congrats on the award, and I had to laugh at the cloud pic. ;o)
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you.

I'm glad to hear you have a brain! Not there it was in doubt. :) Hope everything is okay! I missed yesterday's post - I'm still crazily trying to catch up with all the Web Splash stuff.
ReplyDeleteI hope your doctor's appointment goes without a hitch!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the awards!
Joanna, good luck at the doctors today!
ReplyDeleteAh, but it's so fun up there in the clouds... :)
ReplyDeleteHey Joanna, I hope the MRI reverb has disappeared by now and that the results are good.
ReplyDeleteInteresting comments re awards. We all appreciate different things. If anyone gives me an award I post it on my slide show and am very thankful to that person for thinking of me.
Ciao!
Joanna, so glad to know everything's alright with the medical check up. I'm sure everyone's missing you at his/her blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by mine, and take care

ReplyDeleteI'm very forgetful, think it s a family trait really.
I hope you're ok, Joanna! Take good care and thank you for all your comments on my blog. You're a bright spot in the blogosphere. :)
ReplyDeleteHead in the clouds! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI see you on blogs all the time, and I thought I'd drop by and say hi! From one fellow cloud dweller to the other :)
That's where a writer's head is supposed to be :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
