and No, I do not take caffeine, I only drink herbal teas and will have the odd piece of chocolate every once in a while, I have also stopped all fizzy drinks except for the odd glass or two of champagne.
My next energy booster of choice would be multivitamins but the jury is still out on that one, I heard its better to eat healthier than pop any pills and I also heard if you start you have to keep on taking them.
Third energy booster of choice would be daily exercise and yes I gym-ed for the better part of last year (okay 3 months) but it works I was perkier than usual, I looked good and felt awesome only downside is if you stop like I did your body gets worse than it did when you first started.
Fourth energy choice (my kryptonite) Sugar - I am a selective sugar addict, you won't find me eating oreos or twinkies because well I am trying to be healthy. I can drink my weight in juice so I only do 100% juice but even that has sugar, I do however indulge in bread, nutella and shortbread, there is also my addiction to Mueller Corner Yoghurt (I just found a french substitute yay!).
So if I ever come to your book signing and you need a speed demon just feed me sugar and you will be amazed (be careful though, too much sugar and I might start dancing on table tops).
That said, Tomorrow is my self proclaimed Talli Roland Day, please do all you can to help support one of us and be excited for her I will do the same for you when your time comes.
What do you do to keep your energy going? Tell me all about your pumpkin spice latte addiction
I try to do all the healthy eating, vitamins, etc...but if I'm in real need of an energy boost because I haven't had enough sleep, I drink coffee. I'm picky about my coffee though, and the caffeine in different types affects me differently (ie. turkish, espresso, keurig pods etc...). You should see the look I get when I go to a Starbucks and ask for 5 shots of espresso! And I can down them without sugar too :).
ReplyDeleteI take too much coffee, but that's my North American East Coast thing. Coffee is destructive everywhere except for that straight line from Montreal to Washington D.C
ReplyDeleteGod I love Nutella.
ReplyDeleteCaffeine, mmmm love coffee. There's caffeine in chocolate isn't there? I also love redbush & vanilla tea and know I shoule exercise more.I have an excerpt over at mine for you to take a squizz at. Best wishes to Talli :O)
ReplyDeleteCoffee and chocolate. Coffee and chocolate. Oh and more coffee and chocolate! :-)
ReplyDeleteYay for Talli Day tomorrow!!! It's all so exciting!!
Take care
x
I can't say there's anything I eat/drink every day. But I am downing a Diet Mountain Dew right now (and it isn't even 10 am yet), so some days that makes everything better. :)
ReplyDeleteerica
I don't do coffee/caffeine or soda pop, and I have plenty of energy. Getting enough sleep at night works well enough, and I've heard it's something most Americans lack. I do need more exercise, though. Sometimes my writerly tush is glued to my computer chair a bit too long!
ReplyDeleteI find that sleeping a lot doesn't help. Hardly sleeping at all doesn't seem very beneficial either. Hmm. I actually don't often have much energy, so I'm not sure ...
ReplyDeleteI used to go to the gym and I used to feel better when doing it, but lately I just don’t have the time. Mainly, my energy booster is coffee.
ReplyDeleteI will be buying Talli’s book tomorrow. I can’t wait to read it.
No coffee for me. I don't really do caffeine at all. I did the multi-vitamin thing for a long time, but then I read an article that said they don't do much for you anyhow - just eat healthy, so I quit. I can't tell for good or bad, just yet...we'll see. Exercising, on the other hand, (and when I do it regularly) seemed to help a LOT! I'll have to try that again...after the holidays.... :)
ReplyDeleteBlack, strong coffee and chocolate. And running. Lots of running. Mostly because of the chocolate.
ReplyDeleteTalli Roland Day - hehe! :)
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's all about chocolate and caffeine. Bring it on!
Well. I take a vitamin every now and then, they aren't like antidepressants... if you stop, you just go back to where you started, kind of like with eating right and exercising. I do better energy-wise if I stay as far from refined carbohydrates like sugar and flour as possible--and my mood is better, too.
ReplyDeleteCaffeine, however, well, BRING IT, BABY!
I find exercise (walking, some jogging) usually keeps my going pretty well.
ReplyDeleteTalli Roland Day is a great way of putting it! And I'm sure there'll be plenty of people celebrating. :D
I'm all set for Talli-day!
ReplyDeleteI drink waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much coffee ... ummm ... and tea. It's not healthy. I daren't tell you how many cups a day I drink :S
Exercise is something I dream of ... but then I wake up and sigh with relief!
Ice tea and vitamins. Now I have a dog so my exercise is walking. I too will blog about Tali.

Nutella is the best! I try to be healthy cos it seems all good things come with a prize. My kryptonite is ice cream...shamed face here, lol....
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of energy options! Mine is a morning coffee everyday. On weekends, even more coffee.
ReplyDeleteHappy Talli Roland Day EVe.
Chocolate, first and foremost. And I like tea, Earl Grey or Irish Breakfast... with at least six spoons of sugar. Preferably eight.
ReplyDeleteCoke Zero, intravenously.
ReplyDeleteI go to coffee when I start dragging, sometimes diet Dr. Pepper but usually coffee. (Also a nutella fan : )
ReplyDeleteLately my energies are gone because of traveling but I love starting a new book to get my juices flowing. Also, exercise helps.
ReplyDeleteCD
I love black coffee with heaps of sugar! And chocolates!
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to chocolate and herbal tea! Exercise, mmm, not so much, though when I do actually get some, I always feel so incredible after! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely comment on my blog! And yay, it's Talli Roland day!
I do a lot of walking and sometimes laborious physical activity under the tropical sun, so water for me - lots of it. Coffee very rarely when I'm idle (as in blogging), but must be from grounded beans brewed in a plunger.
ReplyDeleteI take plenty of fruit juice too (unsweetened), and I was told that multivitamins are best taken with juice, instead of water, can't remember why.
Have to learn more about Talli Roland
I don't really do the caffeine/sugar stimulants thing for energy. Then again I have been known to have an afternoon nap from time to time...
ReplyDeleteGenerally, I think enough sleep is key, and a balanced low-GI diet high in wholefoods. Yeah I know it sounds boring but it actually works.
Having said that, I LOVE Nutella, so I can't let it in the house any more. I used to eat it off the spoon...
You seem to be very well balanced. Like you, I'm a little more fussy about the kryptonite [refined sugar] as I like real juice, too. But sometimes that kryptonite can be Hershey's miniatures. Especially this time of year because all the chocolate is so colorfully wrapped!
ReplyDeleteFor me it's exercise and a good balanced diet. Oh and the dark, very dark chocolate (just one square a day).
ReplyDeleteLOL! Would you believe I've never had nutella?
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my coffee in the am nd I like a Tootsie Pop sugr boost in the afternoon.
Triple latte, please. Oh, and yerba mate tea.
ReplyDeleteHmmm ... I drink a little coffee, but it's "half-caf". Mostly I just spend my life feeling tired. LOL... Sorry I'm late to the party!
